BLOG 8: Media and Information Sources | Laboratory


For our meeting on December 4, 2017 I was assigned to be the student teacher of the class. I discussed to the class everything I know about Media and Information Sources. I presented to them the current news I had researched. It was about the UAAP Cheerdance Competition held last December 2, 2017.
After the discussion I tasked them to complete the table by filling it up with their own answers about the current news.

The next day Mr. Opiana was back to handle the class discussion. He introduced the Indigenous Media and Information. He also tasked us to create our own Mind Map about said the topic.

Here is what I came up with:

A day after, we were assigned to group the class with 4 members each. I chose to be with my friends Sharmaine Colon, Sharmaine Estor and Nathania Garcia. We were then tasked to interview any school faculty or personnel in order to learn more about the information they handle.

We chose to interview the school clerk, Mr. Frederick Bernardino

We learned that some indigenous media are channels for change, education and development because of its direct access to local sources. The information gathered are highly credible because it is near the source and is less likely to be sold for profit.
